ALMAGEA® KRILL OIL CARDIO+
The body often does not get enough of the most valuable types of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), which are proven to contribute to the normal function of the heart. A dynamic pace of life, an irregular and unbalanced diet, and unhealthy lifestyle habits have consequences for our overall health, especially for the heart and blood vessels. This is where Krill Oil Cardio+ comes to the rescue.
Almagea® Krill Oil Cardio+ is a dietary supplement in Licaps® capsules that contain:
KRILL OIL
rich in omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA)
VITAMIN E
SELENIUM
Krill Oil Cardio+ contains the oil of krill shrimp, which mostly live in the clean Antarctic sea. Krill oil serves as a rich natural source of omega-3 fatty acids, which includes many times better and more easily usable omega-3 fatty acids than fish oil.
In addition to phospholipids, the natural composition of krill oil includes astaxanthin and vitamin E, substances that protect against oxidative stress. The product has a lot of vitamin E and selenium, which contribute to protecting cells from oxidative stress.
It is precisely this composition that makes it more stable and usable in our bodies.

My favorite is Krill Oil Cardio+. It is the purest source of omega-3 fatty acids, and I recommend it to any working person exposed to stress, especially in a managerial position. I especially like that the shrimp wing oil is obtained in an environmentally friendly way.

This product has become an indispensable part of my day because I have struggled with fatty liver since high school, and my blood tests often show elevated cholesterol. I noticed a reduction in the heavy feeling after eating and a general decrease in fatigue compared to when I did not use Krill Oil Cardio+.

Who is recommended to use Krill Oil Cardio+?
Krill Oil Cardio+ is recommended when it is necessary to supplement the diet with omega-3 fatty acids, found in only a limited number of foods (mostly in blue, so-called “fatty” fish). Insufficient intake of omega-3 fatty acids has been observed in people who eat a typical Western diet, in people who live in continental regions, and in people of older age. It is recommended preventively to protect the heart and blood vessels in case of dyslipidemia and after unwanted cardiovascular events as a secondary prevention. Since omega-3 fatty acids have a wide range of effects, they are also recommended for various inflammatory diseases and conditions: skin diseases, inflammation of the locomotor system, and inflammatory bowel diseases, as well as for hormonal imbalance (menopause, polycystic ovary syndrome) and cognitive impairment.
Is it necessary to take breaks in consuming Krill Oil Cardio+?
When krill oil is used in the recommended daily dose of 500 mg to 1 g, there is no need to take breaks. When the preparation is applied in higher doses, under the supervision of a doctor, it is necessary to take breaks after 3 to 6 months of use in agreement with the doctor.
Why is krill oil more effective than fish oil? What studies confirm this?
Several studies have compared the effects of krill oil and conventional fish oil preparations, and the results systematically indicate better bioavailability of krill oil. When the level of EPA and DHA in these preparations is compared, it is concluded that an almost twice lower dose of EPA+DHA from krill oil is needed compared to omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil. A study by Ulven and colleagues published in 2010 in the journal Lipids was conducted on 113 volunteers in order to determine the effect of krill oil, or fish oil, on lipids in the blood, markers for oxidative stress and inflammatory processes in the body. The authors of the study concluded that the same effects are achieved by using krill oil and fish oil for 7 weeks, although the dose of EPA+DHA in krill oil was only 62.8% of the dose represented in fish oil.
How is the sustainability of the krill protected, i.e. the biodiversity of the environment in which the krill lives?
Scientists estimate that the total weight of the entire Antarctic krill population is almost twice the mass of all humans on earth. However, despite the large number of this species, krill forms an extremely important part of the Antarctic food chain. It is a staple food for whales, seals and penguins, so sustainable harvesting of fins is imperative. The collection of krill in the expanses of Antarctica, by our partner Aker Biomarine, is specially regulated so as not to endanger biodiversity due to overfishing. Accordingly, Aker BioMarine has developed a special and environmentally friendly method for harvesting krill called Eco-Harvesting™. Thanks to a special mechanism, only krill are harvested, but not other marine organisms or birds. The Eco–Harvesting™ method minimizes the impact on biodiversity, prevents enzymatic degradation and bacterial contamination, enabling maximum preservation of all key nutrients in krill oil.
Does Krill Oil Cardio+ contain preservatives?
There is no need to add preservatives since krill oil naturally contains substances that protect sensitive fatty acids from degradation. These are antioxidants such as astaxanthin and vitamin E. Furthermore, Krill Oil Cardio+ also contains additional amounts of vitamin E (12 mg) and selenium (55 μg), which have a strong antioxidant effect. The Licaps® capsule also protects the precious ingredients from external influences.
Can Krill Oil Cardio+ be used by people who do not have cardiovascular problems, but need an increased intake of omega-3 fatty acids, such as pregnant women, nursing mothers and athletes?
Absolutely yes. Pipravak is intended for preventive use by all groups of people who do not consume enough omega-3 fatty acids or who may benefit from additional intake, such as pregnant women. Schoolchildren, students and other groups with increased intellectual efforts can also greatly benefit from an additional intake of omega-3 fatty acids. For pregnant and lactating women, the maximum permitted dose is 450 mg of EPA+DHA from krill oil. Therefore, pregnant women can freely take two Krill Oil Cardio+ capsules per day.
What is the omega-3 index?
The Omega-3 index is a reliable diagnostic tool that represents the concentration of EPA+DHA (omega-3 fatty acids) as a percentage of the total fatty acids represented in the membranes of red blood cells. Scientists who deal with the omega-3 index claim that it is an excellent indicator of the content of omega-3 fatty acids in tissues and therefore believe that it is a better biomarker for coronary heart disease and the risk of sudden cardiac death than the previously established marker – the level of total and LDL cholesterol . The scientists concluded that it is very certain that regular intake of EPA+DHA with high bioavailability (like those in krill oil) achieves adequate tissue saturation, i.e. a high omega-3 index.
In which cases is it not recommended to use Krill Oil Cardio+?
We do not recommend the product to people with an allergy to crustaceans (shrimp, shrimp, lobster) because krill belongs to the group of crustaceans. In larger doses, an interaction with anticoagulants is possible, which manifests itself in the strengthening of the effect of the drug, and therefore people on anticoagulant therapy are recommended to take lower doses (one capsule a day) in consultation with a doctor.
What is the age limit for using Krill Oil Cardio+?
The age limit for use is 12 years or 40 kilograms of body weight.
